There are a few advantages to building a bunk bed instead of buying one. These free bunk bed plans will save you money and create a much higher quality bed than you could buy at the store. Kids love the fun of bunk beds and they’re a great piece of space saving furniture that will give them more room to spread out and have fun.
Building a bunk bed is an easy to moderate project that will take you a day or two to accomplish. How much it will cost varies greatly on the lumber and materials that you choose to get the job done. Tools – Table Saw, Miter Saw, Jig Saw or Band Saw (to cut curves on ladder), Router with 3/8 inch roundover bit, Orbital Sander, Pneumatic Nail Guns, Air Compressor, Drill and Driver with Bits, Kreg Jig, Optional – Planer in conjunction with sanding (really a nice convenience if you have the tool).
