Now, I am an animal lover and I would NEVER harm one!! But cats tend to be a real pain where we live – the mess they make in our garden is disgusting and the smell is even worse! Not only that, our poor birds also get robbed by naughty cats!

There are several valid reasons for wanting cats to stay out of your yard. The good news is that you can use effective, humane strategies to help them find somewhere else to explore. Here are some tips from us:

  • Cats usually dig the soil before they use it as a litter box. Discourage them by lining your garden with chicken wire.
  • Place rubber snakes where the cat will see them – cats don’t like warnings.
  • The easiest way to deal with wandering cats is to make your yard unappealing to them. Because most cats dislike getting wet, you can try using a motion-activated lawn sprinkler.
