These put the boxed kind to shame! The puff pastry is what takes the longest to make. It is better to use butter instead of vegetable shortening. It helps them to be sweeter without the major fuss. They begin with a store-bought puff pastry, and store-bought jam in order to make them easier.  Despite the shortcuts they still have a delicious, fresh, homemade taste.

These homemade toaster strudels may not be a quick-fix meal, but they are definitely a special treat. I’ve got quite a stock pile of apples so the next one for me is apple toaster strudels; I look forward to pulling them out when I need to impress.
