I found this and thought it was really cool… I just had to share!! My girl loves her shape sorters, but now we can make our own!! And the best part…. it also has FREE printables!! Homemade toys can have just as much developmental value as pricey commercial versions. Shape sorters help children’s development:

  • increase fine motor skills
  • introduces early math concepts like shapes and spatial awareness
  • encourages problem solving
  • encourages organizational skills
  • best of all, they are fun!

This super easy DIY shape sorter uses recycled materials and items you probably have in your home right now. It doesn’t take long to make and the end result  will be full of learning opportunities. Click the link below to make this awesome toy….

*** Keep safety in mind — no sharp edges, use non-toxic materials and avoid the use of small objects that could become a choking hazard for your little one.
