Sprouts are great for adding a bit of flavor or crunch to a salad or sandwich, and can really boost the nutritional value of your meal The important thing to note about buying seeds for sprouting is that you should look for seeds specifically labelled as “sprouting seeds” or “for sprouting.” The reason behind this is that they have been cleaned well and are pathogen-free.You can buy special lids made for growing sprouts, and they’re great. They come with multiple lids that have different sized holes to make things easier. Check out the Econo-Sprouter Topper or the SproutPeople stainless steel lids. But if you’re cheap like me, you can also use a piece of muslin, cheesecloth, or nylon and a rubber band!

Sprouting is wonderful! It’s a great way to supplement your fresh veggies, especially in the winter. DIY is way cheaper than buying sprouts. If you don’t have a lot of space, you get to do some quickie gardening on your kitchen counter in a very small space! Perfect for my kitchen as it’s tiny!
