This has to be one of the best chicken DIY projects I have seen in a long time. Basically the chicken can walk right up, step on a platform and the feeder will pop open. Your chickens just need to learn how to open it when they need to eat. May take a while, but eventually it is worth it will all the feed you save in the long run.

If you have an outside coop, this awesome feeder keeps the chicken feed dry into bad weather plus it keeps the wild birds from swooping down eating all the chicken feed. This will in turn save you money in the long run as you won’t be feeding the wild animals too. There is a material list and the price breakdown so you can also build this yourself …. it cost less than $40 and is a quality feeder that will last for years.
