With all the talk about food storage and growing our own food, I did a little digging around to find out what some people ate during America’s Great Depression. Families were taught to creatively stretch out their food budgets and toast, potatoes and flour seem to be the popular, inexpensive ingredients. Expensive meat was typically eaten only once a week.
