I don’t care what anyone says, you can’t beat a good piece of crusty bread with a slab of butter on top – this is the proper hardcore stuff! The best place for this kind of roll, on the side of some bubbling hearty soup.

What you will need:

  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or white whole wheat flour)
  • 1 packet (2 1/2 tsp) instant yeast
  • 3 Tbsp melted butter for brushing

You will not regret making these rolls, they are pretty easy to make and very filling…. What it’s all about! Check out the full recipe and directions from Sue over at theviewfromgreatisland.com via the link below…. Enjoy!
