I will warn you it can get a little messy! Homemade sidewalk chalk is actually quite easy to make, infact, a child can practically make this chalk recipe all by themselves (with adult supervision of course!), Your child will also grow up knowing one more thing she/he can make for themselves instead of having to buy it! You can literally make any shape you want, using anything from muffin tins to toilet paper rolls. Check out what you will need here:

•    Toilet paper or paper towel tubes
•    Scissors
•    Duct tape
•    Wax paper
•    Small bucket or disposable container to make the recipe
•    ¾ cup of warm water
•    1 ½ cups Plaster of Paris
•    2-3 tablespoons of tempera paint
•    Paper bag or a mess mat

Can you think of a better way to get the children outside in the fresh air and using their very own homemade sidewalk chalk! It provides hours of entertainment too! Check out full directions via the link below!
