As a beginner, the gardening equipment and tools section of your local DIY store can seem a little daunting, so start with the basics. You don’t need a lot to start out with, but the key is to buy individual items that are perfectly suited to you.
Weeds can especially be a challenge when you are new to gardening because it’s not always easy to identify which plants are the weeds and which plants are not. They can also be a challenge when you are re-creating or reviving a garden that has been left unloved. Every square inch of your garden contains weed seeds, but only those in the top inch or two of soil get enough light to trigger germination.
